Catherine began practicing optometry in 1989. She moved to Perth after her graduation and worked there for 5 years before returning to Melbourne with the idea of starting her own practice. Two years later in 1995, Catherine Young Optometrist was established in Albert Park.

Our mission in Albert Park is to provide the local community with quality optometric care. To do this, a high level of professional continuing education is maintained every year. Both Catherine and Lawrie Jacobson, who runs the Children's Vision Centre, have completed their Therapeutics certificate and keep their knowledge and management of eye disease current.

We also have the necessary equipment for thorough eye examinations including instruments to detect eye diseases including glaucoma and cataract and a perimeter (visual field tester) for your complete eye health and vision care.

Our service extends beyond the sale of glasses and we are always happy to make frame adjustments and minor repairs to keep your glasses in the best possible working condition.
